Belgrado - Sono 972.800 ( fonte UNHCR “appello globale 2001” p.199 versione francese ) le persone sotto l’autorità dell’alto commissariato delle nazioni unite per i rifugiati nella repubblica federale Jugoslava. Di questi 717.800 sono fuggite da tutte le aree della ex Jugoslavia colpite dalla guerra e dalla “pulizia etnica”: dalle Kraine croate svuotate nel 1995 durante l’operazione tempesta dell’esercito di Tujiman, dalla Bosnia centrale oggi federazione croato - bosniaca, dalla Sarajevo assediata e da quella abbandonata, dopo aver bruciato le proprie case, al seguito del ritiro dell’esercito serbo bosniaco nel novembre nel 1995, da Vukovar e dalla Slavonia

972.800: that’s the number of people set under the protection of the United Nations Authority for the refugees in the Yugoslav Federal Republic. Over 700.000 of them have escaped from the former Yugoslav areas struck by the war and by the aethnic cleaning: from Croatia in 1995 during the storm operation of the Tujiman army, from central Bosnia now transformed into Croat-Bosniac Federation, from Sarajevo assaulted and abandoned after burning their homes after the Serbian-Bosniac army withdrawal in November 1995, from Vukovar and from Slavonia.
